Nonviolent Communication aims to help people communicate with respect, compassion, and honesty. Its intention is for people to feel heard and understood and to support you finding increased clarity in your communication, and feeling connected to yourself and others.
This training includes movement exercises that will support you to tune into the language that your body speaks. To embody NVC is to be more fully connected to your own authenticity.
What will we do
We look at both the principles and concepts of NVC, which are based on empathic listening , the intention to do no harm and staying in connection with another person through empathic embodied communication. Nonviolent Communication (also referred to as compassionate, empathic, mindful and authentic communication).
You will have the opportunity to hear others and express yourself verbally as well as nonverbally, through authentic movement.
We cover the 4 components and 2 parts of the model.
The four components of NVC are:
- OBSERVE mindfully recognising triggers that enrich or diminish your relating in some interactions with others
- Notice and accept what you FEEL in these situations
- Recognise which NEEDS are met/unmet in this situation.
- Communicate your REQUESTS and expressions of gratitude and/or concerns clearly, with confidence.
These are the two parts of NVC.
- Expressing ourselves honestly through the four components
Receive the other and ourselves empathetically through the four components
What’s is different from the regular NVC Foundation Training, is that movement is included and we bring into focus empathic embodied awareness and languaging.
