May 29 @ 9:00 am - July 17 @ 4:00 pm

Want to bring empathy and mindful practice into your early years setting?

This highly specialised course is delivered over 3 days in Stockholm and 3 sessions online. It offers practical tools for educators to deepen their experience of empathy and compassion. It’s about fostering trust, cooperation, team work and collaboration.

It’s design incorporates over 30 years’ experience of heart-focused practice in education settings and curriculum design. We share empirical experience from the on-going operations of Ängbybarnen’s preschools in Stockholm and previous operations in preschools in London.

Strengthen children with compassion in less than a minute

You will discover how empathy looks and feels in a care and education setting. Develop children’s awareness of their unique strengths and qualities by supporting them with emotional awareness, vocabulary and skills to face conflicts peacefully, to understand and care for each other, and make decisions together, so that everyone is satisfied.

Empathy and collaboration

Although young children naturally have the capacity for empathy and cooperation, this does not mean that they develop these capacities on their own. We work together as a team to share, learn and cultivate qualities, habits and to increase our awareness and understanding of empathy and collaboration.

We wholeheartedly believe that empathy offers educators and children the mindset and emotional competencies they need to face a chaotic and rapidly changing world. Empathy can motivate people to learn, be creative, care for each other and work cooperatively for the well-being of everyone.

Who is this training for?

This course is for educators in preschools. It is suitable if you are completely new to learning about empathy and NVC or if you have some prior understanding. We ask that you come willing to participate in the discussions and practical exercises. Fluency in English is an advantage.

  • Adding mindful practices seamlessly into your early year’s curriculum
  • Employing an empathy lens to review and develop your routines, activities and learning resources.
  • Skills to face challenges, for emotional regulation and working with conflict
