NVC Intermediate Training, Bre-friending anger is a 2 day journey in exploring boundaries, needs, expression and limitations

October 19, 2019 @ 10:00 am - October 20, 2019 @ 6:00 pm

The expression of anger is often seen as a problem of relationships that comes from a lack of politeness or civility. It often shows up in society when people don’t feel heard and experience a sense of powerlessness.

“When I am angry it is too hard to express myself in an understandable way. I try to escape it, but very often I just steam out and destroy my relationships”

“It is so difficult for me to express anger that I often end up holding it inside and keep suffering for weeks or even years”

Some spiritual groups, establishments, and traditions actively, discourage not only the expression of anger but the very existence of the feeling, since they consider it a sign of low personal development.  Our efforts to avoid the unpleasant condition of being angry can mean, it is a persisting emotional phenomenon of our everyday reality

What will we do?

During this weekend training, we will explore anger’s qualities and try out different ways of dealing with it. We will create the conditions that can help us see anger as a gift: an inner signal that tells us a lot about our needs and boundaries, as well as the ways we really wish to relate to others.

More specifically in the training, we will practice:

  • Detecting and recognising our anger
  • Understanding what anger means (needs)
  • Connection of anger with other feelings such as fear and shame
  • Awareness of our relationship to anger and its expression
  • Practice expressing our anger in creative ways
  • Saying “No” and putting clear boundaries
  • Ways to face other people’s anger

The work is experiential and is conducted through practical exercises, dancing, singing, role- play and group sharings. It is suitable for anybody who would like to gain a deeper understanding of their anger patterns and particularly people who live in close proximity with others (colleagues, family, pupils etc).

Participants will be expected to have completed a foundation training in NVC, or equivalent.  This will ensure a common foundation for intermediate level engagement and practice.

The training will be conducted in the English language.
